Men's wedding kurta + Nehru jacket
A kurta with a Nehru jacket is the most useful thing a man can own for a wedding season: one kurta and two jackets give you three different looks across the functions.
The length
For a kurta under a Nehru jacket, the kurta should end around mid-thigh to just above the knee, and the jacket at the hip. A kurta much longer than the knee hides the jacket's line; a short kurta under a long jacket looks borrowed. See lengths on the [men's kurtas page](/men/kurtas).
Colour pairs that work
- Ivory or off-white kurta + a deep jacket (maroon, navy, bottle green): the safest pair, works from the haldi to the reception.
- Pastel kurta + a jacket one shade darker in the same family: calm and modern.
- Solid jewel-tone kurta + a printed or brocade jacket: for the sangeet or the wedding itself.
Avoid a jacket and kurta in exactly the same shade; it reads as a uniform. Jackets are on the [men's jackets page](/men/jackets); the [₹2,000–4,000 band](/men/jackets/2000-4000) is where most Nehru jackets sit.
Fabric
Cotton or linen-blend kurtas for daytime events, silk-look for the evening. A raw-silk or jacquard jacket adds the festive part without making the whole outfit heavy.
See the pair on you first
Add one photo of yourself on Jachega, full length or a selfie; it stays on your phone, and every kurta and jacket opens on you (a selfie puts your face on the preview). Open the kurta and the jacket on their own pages and compare. The preview shows the look, not the fit: order by the brand's size chart.
Style notes only: what suits whom is a matter of taste, and the fit of any garment is the brand's size chart's business, not ours. Written by Jachega, 2026-11-01.
